  • MORGAN BASSEY - President & CEO

    Mr. Bassey has worked in the investment banking profession for 28 plus years. In addition to his role as President of HSI, Mr. Bassey has served as HSI's lead banker on many transactions including General Airport System Revenue Bonds for issuers throughout the Country. As a veteran of the municipal finance industry, Mr. Bassey has served as financial advisor and managing underwriter on more than 200+ municipal issues totaling more than $22 billion.

     

    Mr. Bassey has extensive experience with general obligation issues, water and sewer fund issues, airport financings, Certificate of Participation financings, tax increment financings, special assessments, schools, special facilities, housing, mass transit and industrial development issues.

     

    Mr. Bassey holds a B.Sc. degree from Purdue University, an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado, and he received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Denver, College of Law. He is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a Municipal Securities Principal, General Securities Principal and Financial and Operation Principal.

  • SUPANG (SUE) BASSEY - CFO

    Ms. Bassey is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She holds a Master Degree in Taxation (M.T.) from University of Denver and a Master Degree in Finance (M.S.) from University of Colorado. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.S.), major in Accounting from Thammasat University, Thailand.

     

    Ms. Bassey has worked for Harvestons Securities, Inc. as a Chief Financial Officer for 20 plus years. She is in charge of all the financial statements, compliance, and back office operation for the firm. Before joining Harvestons Securities, Inc., Ms. Bassey worked for the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (FINRA) as a Compliance Examiner. Before that, she worked for Ernst & Young as a Senior Auditor.

     

    Ms. Bassey holds the following licenses: S 7, 24, 27, 53, and 63.

  • KENNETH SAWYER - Senior Vice President

    Kenneth Sawyer has been involved in various governmental positions for over 25 years. As the Director of Government Relations for the Illinois Restaurant Association, he was responsible for issues ranging from immigration reform, to the statewide ban on indoor smoking. Mr. Sawyer also served as State Director, for United States Senator Roland W. Burris. In this position he was responsible for 4 offices, whose main role was to address the various constituent requests throughout the state. He also was the City of Chicago’s Assistant City Treasurer. There, he oversaw the city’s banking relationships, as well as the offices representative to the Police, Fire, Laborers, and Municipal Employees pension boards. Most recently, Kenny has moved to the private sector, focusing on municipal bond transactions. He has been involved in over 3 billion dollars of City of Chicago transactions over the past 3 years.  Mr. Sawyer is from Chicago, where he attended Saint Ignatius College Prep, and then studied finance and political science at Howard University in Washington, D.C.  Kenneth holds FINRA Series 52 and Series 63 licenses.

  • DEWITT G. TURNER - Senior Vice President

    Mr. Turner has over 22 plus years of experience in the Fixed Income and Equity Industry, including underwriting, trading and managing multi-million dollars trading accounts.  In addition to the foregoing, Mr. Turner has vast knowledge of the various municipal bond credits and structures. At HSI, Mr. Turner's focus is the municipal bond market, with emphasis on municipal bonds credits, analysis, equity and debt syndicate underwriting, high yield corporate bonds, ETFs, agencies, commercial paper, floating rate notes, asset backed and mortgage-backed securities.

     

    Mr. Turner has held the position of Senior Vice President with Merrill Lynch & Co., Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., and the Westcap Corporation. Mr. Turner is a graduate of Central Missouri State University.

  • BRANDY JOHNSON-WARD - Vice President, Investment Banking

    Mrs. Johnson-Ward is Vice President of HSI’s Public Finance Division and Head of HSI’s Memphis, Tennessee office.  She joined Harvestons Securities Inc. (“HSI”) in 2011 and has been in the investment banking field for 15 years.  Mrs. Johnson-Ward brings a wealth of knowledge as it relates to issuers throughout the Southern, Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions of the United States and has served as Financial Advisor and Underwriter on over $7 billion in municipal transactions for various capital improvement projects, general obligations, utility district expansions, airports, water and sewer systems, local development authorities, community development and planning agencies, and low-income housing development companies.

     

    Some of the issuers that Mrs. Johnson-Ward has served include, but are not limited to the following:  City of Chicago Department of Aviation, City of Memphis, TN, City of Chicago, IL, City and County of Denver Department of Aviation (DEN), Chattanooga, TN, Dyersburg,TN, Shelby County, TN, Lauderdale County, TN, Memphis Light, Gas & Water Division of TN, State of Tennessee, Tennessee State School Board Authority, Tennessee Local Development Authority, Tennessee Hosing Development Agency, Memphis-Shelby County Sports Authority, Memphis, TN Health Education and Housing Facility Board and Poplar Grove Utility district in Atoka, TN.

     

    Mrs. Johnson-Ward holds her Series 7, 63, and State of Tennessee Insurance Producers license and is a 2001 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Memphis, a member of the 2006 Executive Program Leadership Memphis Class, and Board Member for Memphis-Shelby County Center City Revenue Finance Corp., as well as other charitable and professional organizations.

  • DAVID ISAAK - Head of Underwriting/Trading

    Mr. Isaak is the head of trading desk personnel and is responsible for the underwriting, pricing and marketing of securities. Mr. Isaak has over 34 plus years of experience in fixed income securities including underwriting, trading and managing multi-million dollars trading accounts. His main focus has been on the municipal bond market. Mr. Isaak oversees the distribution of primary and secondary municipal bond issues, aging inventories, the municipal trading desk and a team of sales personnel.

     

    Mr. Isaak has built and continues to build relationships throughout the country with many broker dealers, institutional traders, bankers and brokers. His sense of the market and extensive knowledge of structure, pricing and marketability of municipal bonds, as well as his experience with analysis of market trends serves Harvestons Securities well. Mr. Isaak holds a Bachelor Degree from University of Denver, and he has principal licenses including municipal securities with the FINRA.
